Board changes (re: unregistered members)

Recently we've had some spam on this board. One particular thread keeps getting spam from unregistered members. Several new messages in a day. I've deleted them all, but they keep coming back.

To that end I've made one minor change to the board. Everyone who posts here must be a registered ezboard member. Which means that those people who have been posting here without any ezboard membership (don't worry, it's free!) need to sign up in order to continue posting (though anyone can...

This board appears to be dying. I'm not sure what to do about it at this point. Any suggestions? I know some of you are posting, but are things more lively elsewhere at this point? Should I just close up shop here and let the board go?

Question (re: # of pages in each category)

So I've been basically keeping about 10 pages in each of the two main categories (lair and masquerade forums). The question here...do we NEED this many pages? In other words, is ANYONE going that far back into the history to read posts? Or should I limit to only about 5 pages or so?

Just want to clear some stuff out if people aren't paying attention to it.

I just noticed that the little title "Opera Star" has disappeared from underneath my user name. How do I get it back? I like being an "opera star". Disaster Beyond Imagination

OK, since there is an issue regarding names, I figured I'd take it here. I don't know if any of the moderators here can do anything about it, but it bothers me that there is a person who does not seem to care that someone else already uses the name that they decided to post under. As most people here who know me, I have been using "Erik's Angel" for years and it would be unfair for me to alter or change my name in any shape or form. This is not a complaint about popups, per say. Well, it is but not necessarily about their presence on this site. I know they're unavoidable and all that blah blah blah... The problem I have (and still have, even with ad-blocking software) is this: Usually there are numerous popups popping up, one right after the other. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. Since the ads do need to fully load to be recognised as ads, you still have to wait a bit for them to filter out through the...

Well, it's now been about 3 months since the other board went down and this one was created. So, what do we all think? Time to make this our new home? I don't see the other one returning anytime soon, if at all.

So...time to make this our REAL home and not just a temporary one? Any thoughts from you guys?

Sorry to ask this, but I have a very poor resolution monitor and I can't see much of the bored. In order to see the hyperlinks I need to highlight them, just so I know what they say. This is probably just me and my problem with my monitor, but can I please ask for a change in hyperlink colour? Something a little lighter?

The problem is hardly anyone knows about this board, what happened to the old one etc. I've had countless messenger messages asking me over the past few days.

So, what did happen to the last board? Can't comeone put a link saying "Look we've got a new board" on the phantomoftheopera.com main website so people can find this one?

I just want everyone to know that moving topics here doesn't work like it does on the previous board. I can easily move topics, HOWEVER, they don't stay in their old forum as a closed topic. SO...that means if a topic seems to be suddenly gone, you'll have to search other forums for it. Most likely it will be moved to the Masquerade forum. So keep an eye out!! I know it's a pain, but what can ya do?
